Every Sunday for last few years nothing gets done at 9pm on Sundays. I have very few favorite shows but this show is addictive.
The thing that's compelling is the pure realism of the show. They nailed the slang, mannerisms and cultural backdrops perfectly. You could even hear songs from local rap cat Bossman or club music playing in the ground.
My soul goal was to acquire all of seasons and make a super Dual Layer DVD compilation of all of them. I even watch the reruns as if I never saw them. Most times it's too link something from a current episode and find out why it's now relevant.
I really want a movie as a prequel to show or at least two more seasons.
Favorite Characters
Omar-How do you make a gay guy so menacing and feared but respected and make the character work so well? "Omar coming!" Cats scampering off and tossing their work at him. This dude has a code of morals too, compelling?
McNulty-Good cop with too many vices. How gets so much booty is amazing to me.
Bodie-A true street soldier. This is a guy you want on your team!
Dookey-He reminds of a guy that lived in my neighborhood I grew up in. Smart but neglected.
Snoop-You swear she was one of those little knucklehead dudes but she's a stone cold killer. "yeeraooh"
