Back in the day I was a real go hard club head. I used to get geared up just to sweat out my new gear in the club dancing with some fine women or just posted up at a table or the wall depending on how it was going down. Then something hit me, some clubs aren't for me.
Even when I was much younger I really couldn't get into the whylin out and getting dumb in the club. I didn't come there to roll around the floor with some dude because I stepped on his timbs or sneakers by mistake. That's when I realize I need to go upscale with my club venues.
I made a personal rule. It goes like this, if you can wear sneakers, fitted cap, tshirts (not those vintage designer joints-i have a few of those-lol) or shorts you won't find me in there. My reason is those close are far to comfy and dudes and it screams "I don't really care if somebody messes this up when I scrap!"
So I elevated my dress code quickly. The venues I regulate myself to and thats if and when I actually go must have be 25 and up! The dress code for guys must be no sneakers, Timbs, tshirts and fitted hats. A fedora, derby (why these 50yr old dudes are still looking like swap meet pimsp is perplexing) or gatsby is cool. The shirt must have 3 or more buttons and shoes hard bottom or soft are a must. My theory is if a dude is looking extra fly and he knows it, he's not there to fight because he doesn't want to waste gear on ya'll in the words of Ghostface Killah.
What's crazy is the security and door staff let the females wear whatever. I tell ya is crazy how a woman put on some tight jeans and a simple shirt with heals and get in the club. That does tell my alot about that woman tho when I see that. That's another post tho.
I will deal with hearing the Electric Slide, Cha Cha Slide or the that ridiculous Cupid Shuffle a thousand times before I wear about getting shot or stabbed. You know something the older dudes don't get upset because you stepped on their new Stacey Adams or bumped them by mistake. You apologize and it's all good. Real grown man stuff right there. That may be life threatening in what I call the "Hoppa Spots". Besides I like watching the older cats and chics dance, reminds me of my old family BBQs as a kid. Trust me you will hear "Before I Let Go" by Frankie Beverly and Maze at least three times. The old heads have to hear it or their will be a riot-LOL!
I get to walk out the club in one piece and I had a good time too. All in the name of fun and safety. I'm not even remotely concerned about getting crunk or supa soaking that ho!

Political Viewpoint Vol 2
Headz that know me have heard me break down our Iraq fiasco like this. Yeah I said fiasco (foolish ill advised event) according to some dictionaries out there.
Here's my reasoning for not messing with that dude Sadaam-from the perspective of someone who has lived in a crime ridden urban environment.
There are 3 well known and respected hustlers in the hood. Let's call them USA, Iraq and Iran. Now the dude USA is the boss of bosses in the hood. No one messes him or they get dealt with swiftly either diplomatically, financially or physically. The dude has be known to blow the block up a bit just ask Bosnia, Kosovo, Panama and that cat Afghanistan which he stills slapping up by the way.
Iran really has messed with USA because he's just too far away and he tustled indirectly with the dude and saw that he does some shady stuff sometimes when you try to embarrass him by snatching up some of his dudes. So you are playing the cut but secretly he wishes to set it off on the dude. Instead Iran starts stacking his guns and ones and talking slick on the low. Still not a major threat to USA because USA kinda needs this dude.
Now this cat Iraq, I tell you son he's always talking slick. It's crazy because USA has slapped him up in the front of the world real swift like after he was caught strong arming his homie Kuwait. For years USA has been watching Iraq's block and bombing on him a few times too.
The problem is USA got rash. He simply got tired of punking Iraq and figured this dude has to go because he's trying to make him look bad on a grand scale. He needed Iraq to keep the other two cats in check because they nothing because Iraq was punking everyone in the area but USA.
Basically the USA needed Sadaam to stay in power to keep everyone else in check but greed and deception got in the way of clear and concise thought.

Political Viewpoint-Vol 1
First and foremost I am a career soldier and I really love what do and have done so far. The Army has been good to a dude despite the ignorance that gets tossed at us by people who have never laced up a pair boots other than Timberlands. I'm not profoundly patriotic but I will say this because I have been to and lived in a few foreign countries, there's no other place you would rather be despite our issues. Fools are doing ok and really don't know it.
I'm going to drop some stuff that bothers me a bit directed at cats who don't understand how the game we play works. Not everyone is going to deploy immediately due to career paths or specialized assignments. Recognize the needs of the tactical and institutional side of the hustle. There are cats that need to acquire recruits, train recruits and instruct them on basic soldiering and job skills. Now if you don't understand that then read up. A right soldier patch doesn't bring you instant creditability. Remember if you weren't on point before you hit the two way rifle range you won't be when you get back unless you make a concerted effort to get your shot group tight. It's not because you went that warrants you a promotion it's what you did while you were there that warrants you a promotion. Enough of that. Respect the game!

What's Wrong with Rap Music?
If you know me personally you know I don't like the radio because I love variety. You don't get true variety on the radio despite what you think. Far too many times I switched from one station to the next only to hear the same song. Argggghhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Some of the things that's wrong with our genre:
1. Looking for the next Jay-Z, Nas, Biggie and Pac.
2. Materialism fueling an entire album, let's see:
In the V.I.P., rims, strippers, candy paint, gripping grain, clothing label dropping, patron and grey goose references-STOP IT!!!!!!!!!!!!
3. Fear of being different
4. Silly dance songs covering a wack rappers lack of skill
5. No posse cuts, Can anyone really make another "Symphony", "Scenario", or "Buddy"
6. Horrible duets with karaoke sounded cats or some cat with marginal singing skills who's suddenly selling records.
7. Beats? What is going on with these kiddie keyboard sounding tracks. Where's next Pete Rock, Prince Paul, Medicine Men, RZA who's really going to step up?
8. How do you simply make tracks to get you spins in the strip clubs?
9. Videos, can anyone break the mold and avoid the half naked money tossing videos or riding in a leased whip?
10. Where's next Latifah or MC Lyte? Remy Ma-no! Jean Grae-yes hopefully Kweli can get her out there more.
